This is the 16th World Hypnotism Day which is celebrated every year on January 4th. This day is intended to remove misconceptions and needless fears about hypnotism and to educate the public as to the practical power of hypnosis to help people to overcome challenges, to achieve health, happiness and success.
The hypnotist functions as a guide to help his client to achieve a highly focused laser like concentration to adjust their mindset or ways of thinking so he or she can overcome life challenges to become their personal best. For example, Olympic champions have been using these mind power techniques for years. Hypnosis usually creates a deep relaxation and heightened suggestibility to erase negative thinking and replace it with positive thinking. However, using hypnosis is a giant leap above the everyday use of ordinary “positive thinking”.
Hypnotism is a valuable tool for stress management, achieving a creative meditative mental state and peace of mind. Since 70-90% of all problems brought into a doctor’s office are either 100% caused or at least made worse by stress, hypnotism is an amazing tool everyone should have available. Hypnotism and self-hypnosis can be applied every day in many areas by anyone.
Often, the public develops total misrepresentations of hypnotism from Hollywood movie entertainment. Stage hypnotist shows can also create misleading information about hypnosis in the quest to be more dramatic or entertaining. Done the wrong way, stage hypnotism may leave the audience believing that the hypnotist has all powerful control over the person on stage, thus creating a fear of the hypnotist. On the other hand, professional hypnotherapy is a technique which allows access to the subconscious mind to help the client to eliminate unhealthy habits, accomplish goals, overcome addictions, fears, pain, or to reach their top level of performance. Hypnotized people do not loose power – They gain power!
World Hypnotism Day exists for individuals to understand hypnotism and the positive things that it can accomplish. Being hypnotized is a co-operative effort between the hypnotist and the client or patient. A professional hypnotist, through years of education, can help you to understand the benefits of hypnosis, be your guide and teach you the skill of how to be hypnotized by training and conditioning your mind. Once you are hypnotized, powerful, planned, positive instructions are given to your inner subconscious mind. You effortlessly focus your mental energies upon your desired changes in thinking, feelings and actions for successful outcomes in your life.
History of World Hypnotism Day
Dr. Jack Gibson was an Irish physician and hypnotherapist who died in 2005. In his practice, he utilized hypnotherapy with his patients for surgery and psychosomatic disorders. In fact, he used hypnosis in over 4000 minor and major surgeries. The first World Hypnotism Day occurred in 2006 and was dedicated in his honor. It was also established to eliminate myths and misconceptions spread by Hollywood and fictional literature from vampires, to Dracula, Svengali and more. Today, hypnotism is practiced world-wide by physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, dentists, ministers, counsellors, nurses, professional hypnotherapists and dozens of other helping professions. The acceptance and use of hypnotherapy, as a therapeutic tool, is definitely increasing every day throughout the world.
