Hypnosis, Self-Hypnosis, Pain Control

Hypnosis, Self-Hypnosis, Pain Control

Everyone can use this one!

Most people have several events of pain and surgeries in a lifetime and need to create a healthy, healing mindset. As you read below, imagine experiencing some of these ideas right now and feel the power of your own mind … as a beginner, or as advanced student of mind power and hypnosis. Of course, doing this is far more effective when using your mind powers while hypnotized. Enjoy! Here we go –

After being hypnotized, people often say: “I have never felt so relaxed before. My attention was totally focused on your voice … it is like I was all mind and no body, hanging on your every word.” You can go to a place where everything vanishes into the far-off distance, and only my voice seems important. For pain control, hypnotic instructions may be given that the part of the body experiencing discomfort is becoming numb like wood, wax, leather, rubber, no sensation, no feeling. The phrase “increasing comfort” is better than saying less pain.

Or, an imaginary anesthetic has been injected into that place of discomfort, the same numbing as from a dentist’s injection of novocaine. Or the control board with dimmer switches, buttons, and dials in the brain can turn that discomforting feeling to a more comfortable level. By adjusting these, the discomfort may be replaced with comfort. Where pain travels to the brain, that highway can be closed with a gate, or a team of tiny construction workers can build cement walls around it. A snowman can be built over the area of discomfort to make it numb.

Another common pain control method is to imagine and convince the subconscious that a part of their body, such as the hand has ice chips, ice cubes on it, that it is becoming cold and numb. Hands can first be placed in cold water or warm water to memorize the sensations for use when you may need it. There can be detailed recalling of the feeling of numbness, bathing in icy cold water or snow or like the numbness when your foot went to sleep; your hand was in ice water; the cold winter wind made your hands numb, rolling in the snow, etc. After achieving numbness in the hand: “That numb hand grows lighter and lighter and floats to gently touch the painful area, transferring the numbness for comfort.” “When you come back from hypnosis, that part of your body remains asleep, numb, wooden, like leather, no sensations, just pleasant soft pressure” … “You only awaken from the neck up.”

The subconscious may be asked to consult with the inner guru, medicine man, or spiritual adviser to find out what method will be effective to make the pain vanish. Another approach is that the pain can be increased with imagination. The client appreciates the power of their own mind, but then the pain is continually reduced to a dot and finally disappears, or at least lower than the original pain level. Discomfort is often rated on a 1-10 level before and after hypnosis instructions. A rating may also be answered while hypnotized. You can find out if the client is unconsciously willing to let go of the pain by asking permission from the subconscious.

The person may be guided to imagine their body moved away to another place, taking the pain away with it. A burning pain may be changed to a pleasant vibration, tingling or a feeling of warmth or coolness. Uncomfortable times can be made to seem short and more comfortable times can feel/seem longer.

Before pain is addressed with hypnosis, physical causes should be addressed. It is best to remove a minor pain before a major pain to create confidence in their ability to take back control. Training for deeper levels of hypnosis and reinforcement, repeated practice of the techniques and instructions, locks in the improvement for stronger, permanent results. Self-hypnosis training is valuable here too. Self-esteem, ego building suggestions also add to feelings of self-mastery.

With your imagination and hypnosis, you can change the size, shape, color, and movement of the pain. On the place that is uncomfortable, you can create a feeling of warm sunshine, a hot water bottle, an electric blanket, bathing in a hot spring, the scent of flowers, beautiful healing music and ocean waves rolling in and out washing away the discomfort. Frequent practise with a hypnotist, with hypnosis recordings or self-hypnosis will bring the best results. Hypnotic relaxation alone removes pain. Negative emotions like anger, guilt and resentment are best resolved, as they take away mental energy that should be focused on pleasure, healing, and success. Negatives are best replaced by forgiveness of self and others, and love, thereby activating energetic healing forces. Positive emotions create relaxation, peace of mind and health.

Uncomfortable feelings can transfer to a right big toe, an ear, or a finger. Again, the client feels a sense of control that enhances further success. You can float out of that body and go anywhere that is pleasant for you, or even explore the mysteries of outer space. You can leave most or all that pain here and go there. An alien spacecraft can pick you up and kindly offer to treat you with an advanced magical solution, a cream, a ray, or a futuristic medical machine to find a more enjoyable and pleasant feeling. Pain can be changed to just pressure that does not bother you. Guided imagery can take the client to a time in the past or the future, where there is only pleasure, no pain. “Go to that place with no cares, no worries, just feeling peaceful, relaxed, calm, safe and secure.” A mental dream may be created about being healed by a kind mystic from another world. Post hypnotic suggestions may be given that a certain place, feeling, smell, taste, sight will bring back those feelings of numbness, relaxation, softening of the muscles, comfort, pleasure, etc. Pain can also be positive and protective. Sometimes it is best to leave a little to let us know when attention and medical help is needed.

When you forget you are wearing eyeglasses, a watch, or your shoes, you can also forget other sensations. Time can go fast at a fun party, but time can go slow while walking in cold weather. “An hour can seem like a minute” in pain reduction hypnosis, with hours and days which are flying past. “With every breath, those feelings can evaporate, and they are replaced by softness, comfort, pleasure, gratitude and relaxation.”

Imagine moving your body parts smoothly, before you begin to move them. Knots untie, dissolve, and loosen like Jell-O. Hypnosis directions can also be given to sleep better, to be diligent about following physician instructions, to take medications, physiotherapy exercises, proper nutrition, to drop tobacco and alcohol use. Another application is to set into the subconscious an expectation of a successful recovery after surgery, with rapid healing. The mind can be trained to change our life for the better.
